This week I was reading the Linked-In Group “SAP Mobility – Mobilizing
Business on the Move”. The question posed to the group “Which
smartphone/PDA mobile platform, in your opinion, will dominate the market in
five years Microsoft ( Mobile 7), Google (Android) or Apple (iPhone)?”
seems to be the question many of the “mobile denizens” are asking.
Each of the platforms have their own pros and cons, depending on what
you’re looking for but the choice really comes down to the details of the
applications you will be running. One thing is for sure in five years none
of the Mobile Os options will be the same as they are today. The evolution is
too fast. Like cars, boats and any other product change is the only thing
that is a constant. However in the technology it seems change is exponential.
With continued improvements in Smartphones, Mobile OS platforms, 3G/4G
networks... (more)
According to the IDC the world’s mobile worker population will surpass one
billion people by the end of this year. This means there are vast
opportunities to bring mobile technologies into the work place and improve
business.
This week I had the opportunity to visit with a client who had taken a
weekend to estimate what his paper processes were costing him. Here is one
segment of the break down:
Cost per Technician:
Time to complete paperwork after every service call – 20 minutes Average
calls per day per technician – 6 Total technician time to complete
paperwork – 2 hours Ave... (more)
The Tablet PC market is heating up with new contenders entering the market to
compete for your consideration. Apple has clearly set the bar and grabbed an
early market share. The question is will other vendors throwing their hat in
the ring have significant offerings to entice Tablet PC Users?
Samsung introduces a potentially strong contender with the Galaxy. I’m not
sure where they came up with the name — but I digress. The main draw to the
Galaxy is it runs Android OS and will be offered by the 4 major cellular
providers. The Galaxy offers a very responsive 7 inch screen. Suppor... (more)
Over the past couple of weeks I’ve watched in utter amazement the utterly
poor response by Apple to the technical design flaws in the iPhone 4
Antennae. Basically if you hold the iPhone with your left hand you run a high
risk of dropped calls. When Steve Job’s was confronted by Rory Sinclair
about the issue Steve Jobs responded to Rory “Just don’t hold it that
way.”
Come on let’s get realistic!
It reminds me of the old joke. A man says to the doctor, “It hurts when I
do this!” The doctor says, “Don’t do that.”
Apple’s latest response is for customers to purchase a bumper for $29... (more)
I’ve written about the importance of relationships in sales many times.
I’ve understood the MASSIVE value of relationships intuitively but last
night after attending a Bradley Sugars “Business is Booming” seminar I
gained a new understanding of why relationships are important. Simply put,
strong relationships provide “lifetime value”. Lifetime value is the
value of a relationship over time – ideally a lifetime.
Essentially there are three relationships you need to constantly nurture.
Customers Centers of Influence Host Beneficiary Relationships
Customers: Nurturing relationships wi... (more)
